The Experience
Our slowest journey, and often the one guests write to us about a year later. You’ll stay with a host family in a fishing village on Kelantan’s coast — not a hotel dressed up as a homestay, but an actual spare room in an actual house, with a dinner table you’ll be expected to sit at. Kak Yan, who hosts most of our groups, has taught batik and songket weaving for over thirty years.

Welcome to the Kampung
Arrival and a warm homestay welcome, with a simple orientation walk through the village before dinner.

Day
Batik & Boats
A hands-on batik workshop in the morning, then an afternoon visit to a traditional wooden boat-building yard.

Day
Paddy & Pedals
Cycling through kampung backroads and rice paddies, followed by a cooking class that ends at the family dinner table.

Day
Night Market & Farewell
A final morning free to wander, an evening night market visit, and a slow goodbye.
